6 Bolt Crank

Back in Business

It has been a long time since I updated the site. Many have known that I was fighting cancer when I was out. I am glad to say that I am done with chemo and I am headed for a complete remission. Now I can try to get back to normal life again. My wife has been keeping a good blog on my battle and about our new daughter.

Can only work about two hours before I get too tired. Getting better every day. I left the engine almost complete. I prime the engine with oil and installed the new Kevlar timing belt. Just test fitting the intake manifold right now. Had to put it on to mock-up all the intercooler piping. Also got the A/C, radiator, and power steering hooked back up. Check out the mirror refection of the slim fan in the heat shield. The heat shield is not bolted up yet.

I got two throttle bodies, both 91-94, but one is a turbo and the other is the N/A type. I didn't know which one I would be using, so I got both, and plan on rebuilding them both. Got all new seals, and just had to tear down and clean the used throttle bodies.

It was a pain in the ass to break down these throttle bodies. Luckily I had to only drill out only one bolt. Will re-tap it to a larger screw later. The rest I got out with a screw driver, pliers, our easy out.

Marked everything so I will know how it all goes back together.

All torn apart and ready to be cleaned.

I plan on using the turbo throttle body. I got an new elbow that is a true 2.5" and had a welded 3/8 bung for my IAT. Just need to modify the upper IC pipe.

I had to go to the recyclers to drop off all my parts boxes.
