Plumbing
I got a couple more hours in on the car. I am mocking up the intercooler pipes and fuel lines. Still can only work about two hours a day, but I am making progress. Also it just feels good to work on the car.
I got the lower intercooler pipes mocked up. The car originally had a small 16G turbo on it, so I had to cut out about 5 inches out of the pipe. Still need to clean up the edges and bead the ends.
I had to trim the upper intercooler pipe because I replaced intake manifold. With the new sheet metal intake manifold, I had grind down the transmission mount a little to get the pipe where I wanted it. Not too much, about a quarter of an inch.
The aftermath.
Got the -8an fuel line from the filter to the fuel rail mocked up. Also tested fitted the fuel pressure regulator. Going to fab up a bracket to mount to the cruise controller bolt holes. I am deleting the cruise control, so it is not a problem.
You can see all my sweat marks. Need to tape up the polished metal. I am planning on running the fuel line above the SMIM, and again the firewall with padded clamps.
Got my two STM filter-less catch cans. Use one for the valve cover breather, and the other for the PCV.
