I'm planning on getting the short block assembled by a professional company. But giving people a chance to buy it, before I get it put together.
Maching on the block was done by Blue Oval Racing. They did all the normal stuff, strip & hot tank, magnaflux, shot blast, line hone (with ARP & Girdle), deck, bore true inline, precision hone, and then jet and hand wash. Rotating assembly was balanced and fit main and rod bearings. I have to check, but I am pretty sure the bearings for the balanced shaft elimination were installed. Cylinders where enlarged 0.5mm over standard size (85.5mm).
Parts:
New Custom 6Bolt 4G63 Wiseco 1400HD Stroker Pistons with lateral port and 9.0:1 compression for E85. They are 0.5mm oversized to match block (85.5mm). Also have 22mm wrist pins, and not 21mm ($710)
New MAP Ultimate Duy Rods made by Howard ($790)
New Eagle Forged 6Bolt Stroker Crank (100mm) ($685)
Blue Oval Machine Work - $1172
New Kiggly Girdle - $120
New ARP Main Bolts - $65
New ACL Race Bearing Rod - $35
New ACL Race Bearing Main - $65
Total: $3642
Selling for $2700
What is left to do:
Fix Stroker Clearence issue - this is normal for a stroked 4G63. Have to grind out some of the block. If grind to far, can hit a water jacket and ruin block. I have done this in the past and haven't had a problem, but it can happen.
Assemble the Short Block
So if you know what you are doing, you can save a lot of money, and have a bad ass 4G63 stroker short block.
After having the short block assembled, price will go up to 3,200. A short block with these parts sell well over $4,000.
